Russian jewelry industry’s gold consumption falls 0.2% in Jan–Sep
MOSCOW, Oct 29 (PRIME) -- Gold consumption by Russia’s jewelry industry fell 0.24% on the year to 25.002 tonnes, or 803,800 ounces, in January–September, a representative for the Assay Chamber of Russia told PRIME on Tuesday.
The industry’s silver consumption decreased 2.61% to 80.374 tonnes, or 2.584 million ounces, in the period.
Russia’s gold jewelry production fell to 22.39 million items with a total weight of 41.67 tonnes in January–September compared to 22.49 million items with the weight of 41.77 tonnes in January–September 2018.
Russia’s silver jewelry production shrank to 13.07 million items with the weight of 87.28 tonnes from 13.55 million items with the weight of 89.62 tonnes.
